A few years ago, I made the mistake of riding Mission: SPACE at Epcot Center. Feeling quite unwell afterwards (a guy who gets queasy on swings should know better), I remember consciously acknowledging that space exploration wasn’t for me. On that day, I ruled out astronaut from the list of vocational possibilities if I ever left Christian education.
At peace with this decision and with nausea and claustrophobia subsiding, I wandered to the international pavilions in search of a churro. I wasn’t ever looking back on this ride or career decision.
Until the past couple of weeks.
Perhaps, you too have been deeply impressed by the images shared by NASA from Artemis II? I’ve been surprised by how much these images of the moon and earth have moved me.

The accompanying stories from the crew are just as moving. I am beyond impressed by their bravery. I am dumbfounded that humans have figured out how to explore space. The mystery of it all is overwhelming.
For me, these images from space have the same impact as sitting in silence while basking in the light of stained-glass windows. Our world, and the world that surrounds our world, drips the goodness of our Creator God. I am grateful for the people who help reveal these wonders to me.

Call for Presenters
Preparation for our very first TfT conference at Harding Academy in Memphis (March 3-5, 2027) is in full swing. This conference is open to any educators at TfT schools. Recently we emailed out this Call for Presenters for both strands and workshops. If you are interested in sharing at the conference, we encourage you to read through the details and to submit a proposal. Our desire is for this conference to be a place where practitioners lead practitioners. Practitioners like you!
Our conference Storyline is Celebrating in God’s Story, and we are sooooo ready to celebrate your great work. Please direct proposal questions to Amanda Scott, TfT’s Director of Learning.

TfT coming full circle:
Intermountain Christian School
Intermountain Christian (ICS) hired two ICS alumni, who have launched their own video production small business (@TaschuProductions), to create a video for ICS’s Gala. Their roots in video storytelling began through TfT at ICS, where they used their skills to create multiple promotional videos, public service announcements for a FLEx focused on the shrinking Great Salt Lake (as shared in a previous TfT Bulletin), and a short film designed for use in chapel.
ICS is incredibly proud of the work they produced for the Gala. It not only showcases their growth as creators and Kingdom builders but also represents a full-circle moment of seeing TfT formation continue beyond graduation. The video highlights TfT and its impact on learning at ICS.

Celebration of Learning at
Surrey Christian School
Celebrations of Learning have been an annual practice at Surrey Christian School in recent years. To ensure parents can attend events at both campuses, the elementary and secondary campuses typically hold their celebrations on separate evenings. This year, both campuses used the celebration to highlight the “real work, real needs, real people” learning happening across the grade levels. The energy and enthusiasm is captured in both the secondary and elementary videos, which share both imagery and voices of students, teachers, and parents.

FLEx Cards: Celebrating Park Christian School
At Park Christian School, teachers are creating meaningful opportunities for students to share God’s love in their learning. In Erica Jost’s and Niisa Hoiberg’s 3rd-grade FLEx, students lived out their deep hope of encouraging others with the gifts He has given us by guiding their kindergarten buddies through new skills. After choosing a topic they were excited to teach, the 3rd graders worked together to design the best way to help their younger friends learn and grow.
In Krista Holter’s 8th-grade science class FLEx, students connected their study of God’s design in earth minerals with Mother’s Day. They researched their mothers’ birthstones, learned which minerals form each one, and created cards that combined scientific explanation with heartfelt messages of love and appreciation.

Opening Circles with the Throughlines
Today’s Opening Circle invites us into the Throughline of Beauty Creating. At the very beginning of Scripture, we are introduced to God as Creator as he brings light, life, and beauty out of chaos. From the beginning, we see that beauty creating is central to God’s Story. We are invited to join in this ongoing work, participating in God’s creative, redemptive plan by using our gifts to create beauty in every aspect of our lives. Beauty is not limited to traditional art forms—it includes how we live, serve others, build community, and care for creation.
As learners explore today’s resources, encourage them to expand their vision of beauty creating beyond traditional visual arts. Beauty creating is about the ways we bring goodness, order, and flourishing into the world around us.
Beauty Creating: Learners engage in beautiful work that enriches the world and reflects God's heart for diversity, complexity, and creativity.
