TFT Bulletin #18 | May 27, 2026

Road trips. Poison Ivy. Swimming holes. Mosquito bites. Backyard grilling. Thunderstorms. Hammocks. Sunburns. Iced drinks. Skinned knees. Warm evenings and fireflies.

The stuff of summer. The space and time of summer.

Whatever this coming break looks like for you, I wish you a wonderful memory-making summer.

As we enter summer break, let me share with you the final lines of the poem “Slowly,” written by Pastor Kyle Brooks and shared with me by his cousin Tim Leugs, one of our TfT School Designers:

My soul needs quiet

space

where no face but Yours requires my gaze.

Space

for synapses to play like children

slapping paint on paper to reveal surprising patterns.

Space

to remember it's okay to exist.

To be

like a rock or tree

that glorifies You just by taking up

space

slowly.

Wishing you space this summer.

slowly.

With gratefulness for your role in God’s story,
